Futurist = an intentional space created to allow and engage Dogwood’s collective imagination. The name Futurist has evolved over the years for Dogwood; exploring different coffees that push the boundaries. First up, we will be exploring different co-fermentation processes. Co-fermentation is a specialty processing method where natural ingredients like fruits or spices are added during the coffee's fermentation stage to impart unique and complex flavor profiles.
This coffee uses a co-fermentation process by adding pineapple and panela sugar to the coffee beans during the 96-hour fermentation process. The pineapple introduces bright, tropical acidity, while the panela adds a subtle sweetness and roundness to the profile. These ingredients do not mask the coffee’s character but instead amplify and complement its natural attributes. This co-fermented coffee showcases a well-defined balance of fruit-forward notes and sweetness, making it a standout example of innovation rooted in tradition.
